Today in class we worked on Adobe Illustrator CS6 and practiced using the pen tool on outlines of shapes. We used the pen tool to create anchor points, then used the convert anchor point tool to bend the lines into the shape we wanted. I did this once before in freshman year in Art Design and New Media, so this was a fun trip down to memory lane.
For this assignment, I took a picture of Sabrina's shoes in the leaves outside in the field. The first picture is of the original photo.
The second picture is my attempt at creating the abstract illusion. The only thing I did to this image is turn it black and white and it worked perfectly, because the shoes blend in with the leaves so you would have to look twice before figuring out that it's actually shoes. The third one is my non-objective picture. To do this I used the glass filter in photoshop, and then used a gradient effect to make it less distinguishable, and more aesthetically pleasing. The last picture I decided to just have fun with and put it on the liquify effect, then decided that was too plain and used another filter to create distortion in the pattern. The first picture presents the original photo I took. Using photoshop on my phone, I changed the color of the shells to make them look more interesting and vivid. I tried to make the shells look as clear as possible so I can mess with the blur effect later, but it already did sort of a blur.
The second picture is a blur with the emphasis on the middle couple of shells. The first shell is not fully blurred when it was supposed to be, but that was my mistake. The third picture is a blur where the clearness is emphasized on the front shells, and it gradually gets blurrier as it goes further down. From the angle I took this photo in, this blur makes the most effect. The fourth photo's focal point is the shells the furthest from the the first one. It kind of looks like they are coming towards you. The first picture shows a llama head shadow puppet against the brick wall of the school. I used photoshop to make the wall look a little bit more vivid.
The second picture is of a tree casting a shadow, and I really liked how this one came out because those kinds of shadows of trees always look like what they are, but the curves of the branches make the shadows look interesting to look at. And lastly the third picture is of Sabrina sitting on a bench outside of the school, and I captured her legs to show the element casting the shadow, but I feel like it took away from the actual shadow because the jeans are so colorful. |
