The seven different photographic genres are art, photography and war, digital truth, presidential image taking, advertising and persuasion, social change, and cultural identity.
Art focuses on capturing the different works done by an artist, however it's not limited to that. It could also be a way to express yourself through imagination and imagery. War photography really seizes all the agony, drama, and fear in a specific moment in a way that can make even the person looking at it feel that emotion. Digital imagery can be an easy way to capture a moment of truth, or a way to control/manipulate media depending on what is going on. Presidential image taking has been a tradition ever since the time of Abraham Lincoln. It's meant to capture the president in a way that looks presentable and convincing. Advertising and persuasion photography is taken when you wish to sell a product. Many of them exaggerate in order to make the product look more desirable. Social change photos are used when you want to bring out an issue in hopes of fixing it. And finally cultural identity photography focuses mainly on capturing the importance of cultural identity.
My picture would probably fit into art, because of all the value you can see and it looks like a portrait. It could maybe be fit into cultural identity somehow.
